**Being your slave, what should I do but tend**
**Upon the hours and times of your desire?**
**I have no precious time at all to spend,**
**Nor services to do, till you require. - Shakespeare, sonnet 57**
It should have been glaringly obvious there's something not right, with how strongly I identified with that sonnet.
**Healthy people** don't want an unshakable intensity that requires self abandonment to maintain. Media perpetuates this narrative.
"Lose yourself in love.
Go crazy in love.
Do anything, for love. ""
Boundaries? A sign of shaky conviction, surely. ***Boundaries are for losers.***
The physical energy and sheer time intensity it takes to capture the attention and affections of an avoidant person makes the breadcrumbs they offer feel like a prize to be won. ***That's not sustaining,*** though.
That's a full time job trying to get someone to love you and treat you as though you matter.
Like a slot machine of love.
Intermittent.
